Hi.  I'm Tricia Chitwood. I am an emerging artist whose work seeks to capture the temporary yet eternal quality of nature and life. I see magic in nature, and love the process of conveying that magic through various mediums in art. These images spark my interest, curiosity and passion, and try to capture the elusiveness of nature, the beauty and complexity. The magic is in the seamless merging of colors and happenings within the calm of nature. This is especially true when mixed with human perception, as is evident in scenes through windows, or reflections of images on water.

The photographs I take are mostly located in the woods of southern New England. I go on hikes, and spend time outside to collect material, then work on reproductions of selected photographs in the studio, in oil.  The process of transfering the mixture of images and emotions onto the canvas in the form of an oil painting is immensely compelling, and the basis of my creative work.
